What’s the difference between Registered Homes, Licensed Homes, and Licensed Centers?
- Registered Child Care Homes: Care for up to 12 children; caregiver must be 18+; fewer regulations.
- Licensed Child Care Homes: Care for 12 children (including own under 5); caregiver must be 21+; more training and inspections; stricter standards.
- Licensed Child Care Centers: Commercial facility for 13+ children; full licensing, director qualifications, inspections, and structured curriculum.
