The "EmergentED Parent Portal" (Parent ED) is specifically designed for employee parents accessing child care education services through their employer. The portal's main features include:
- a personal employee dashboard,
- class library with on-demand video content,
- live session calendar and registration,
- a certificate center for completed courses,
- a downloadable resources hub,
- a child care finder with a referral tracker,
- an “Ask an Expert” Q&A feature (dedicated phone line and live on-line support),
- and a feedback/survey section!
The Dashboard Home greets the user by name. The interactive dashboard show's a progress bar indicating the percentage of completed classes, next scheduled live session, emplo and display earned certificates.
In the Class Library, employees can browse and search by category (e.g., newborn care, toddler behavior, screen time, nutrition) to find resources that are beneficial to parents, watch embedded videos, download supplementary materials, and mark each class as completed. Upon completion, the system should automatically issue a certificate, store it in the user's profile, and allow it to be downloaded in PDF format from the My Certificates page.
The Live Sessions lists upcoming Zoom or Teams events, with multiple registration options, calendar syncing, and confirmation emails.
The Resources Hub offers downloadable tip sheets, parenting checklists, and guides organized by topic.
The Child Care Finder page allows employees to search by ZIP code for high-quality licensed programs in Texas. When an employee clicks “Connect Me,” our database will log the search certifiying when a connection is made.
The Ask an Expert feature allows users to submit parenting questions, track their submission status, and receive replies. An archive of previously answered questions for browsing is also available.
The Surveys & Feedback section appears after each class, allowing parents to rate the class and suggest future topics.
